As a Database Engineer at goFLUENT, you will play a key role in designing, optimizing, and maintaining the databases that power our global language learning solutions. You will ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of our data systems while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to support product development and operational excellence.

What You Will Do

• Design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable database solutions.

• Optimize database performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system reliability.

• Develop and maintain database schemas, stored procedures, and queries.

• Monitor database capacity, security, and integrity across environments.

• Support data migration, transformation, and integration activities.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance application performance and data flows.

• Implement best practices for backups, recovery, disaster planning, and monitoring.

• Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, and security standards.

What We Are Looking For

• Strong experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and/or NoSQL systems.

• Solid understanding of database architecture, indexing, replication, and performance tuning.

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and managed database services.

• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) for automation.

• Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps tools, and modern development workflows.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a global, fast-paced engineering environment.

Education & Experience

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in database engineering, administration, or development.
